Max Verstappen hopes it will rain at the Italian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen "hopes it will rain" at the Italian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen will start the Italian Grand Prix from the back of the grid and will be hoping for rain so that he can make up some more places during the race. Verstappen has a new Honda engine, which is why he has the grid penalty and took the penalty at this circuit where Red Bull traditionally struggle.

"At least we now have more power and that's what it's all about. We also have nothing to lose, because it is not like catching up with the competition with one step. We just want to take steps so that next season we will be closer or even better than Ferrari and Mercedes,” Verstappen said to the Ziggo Sport camera.

"Of course I hope it will rain, that might help us, but Monza has never been our circuit anyway, so it's better to take a penalty here than to do it in Hungary."

It will be exciting to see Verstappen start at the back of the grid and work his way up the rankings. He will be hoping for a better start that the one he had in Spa.
