Charles Leclerc won Ferrari's first race of the season at the Belgian Grand Prix. The race had it all: An exciting battle for the lead and an equally tense midfield scrap. Ferrari were fast all weekend and they were the team that deserved to win.

Anthoine Hubert's tragic death

The weekend had been dampened by the tragic news of Anthoine Hubert's death but every single driver put on a fitting tribute for the young racer and it was great to see the motorsport community pull together in such a hard time.

The loss really impacted all the drivers. Daniel Ricciardo even admitted he thought about not racing as he was so upset.

The Race!

Leclerc started the race from pole and put on an impressive display to keep Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes behind him. It looked like the Brit would catch him during the final few laps but the Ferrari driver had the skill to pull of a great victory.

Tribute to Hubert

Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc grew up racing with Anthoine Hubert and before the race, Gasly told Leclerc to go and win the race for their friend.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff also agreed that it was fitting that Leclerc won the race because the two were so close.

Heartbreak for Norris

Lando Norris had a great start and was driving in 5th for the whole race until disaster struck on the final lap. As the McLaren driver crossed the start-finish line for the final time his engine failed and along with the opportunity of a career-best result.

It was a great race but a sad weekend. Next weekend the Formula 1 circus heads to Monza where hopefully the racing will be fast, exciting and safe.
