Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that he didn't want to race after hearing the tragic news of Anthoine Hubert's death. The incident shook the world of motorsport and has reminded us all of the danger the sport we all love possesses. The usually positive and upbeat Ricciardo felt really bad after hearing the news and even thought about pulling out of the race.

"I'm glad today's race is over," Ricciardo revealed to Motorsport.com. “I know, strangely enough, racing is the best way to show respect, but I don't think any of us really wanted to be here or actually wanted to be racing.

"Although I really only speak for myself now, I can imagine that I am not the only one who feels that way."

It was an emotional weekend but everyone stayed strong and put on a great show in tribute of Hubert.

“It was hard, really hard to be brave here and keep everyone watching. I know many people on the paddock who are still in pain after yesterday (Saturday). I think everyone is relieved that it is over, we can close this now and hopefully, this will be the last time something like this happens.

"I thought a lot about not racing Saturday night. The question is: is this really worth it? Of course. At the end of the day it is a simple but also honest question. This is our job and it is part of it. At the same time we just drive laps in cars ... To be honest: seeing his family here today gave a lot of power. Taking my hat off won't compensate for that gesture. I don't know what to say about it, it is unbelievable what it is like to be in their position. I feel they were much stronger than all of us."

Ricciardo and all of the drivers did our sport proud today and showed how strong our community can be in times of trouble.
