F1 managing director Ross Brawn has hinted that there could be some changes to the layout of F1 race weekends next season as the sport looks to make the racing more interesting for the fan.

There have been plenty of suggestions around how F1 can make racing more exciting, with reverse grids and multiple races just two of the ideas.

Formula 2 use a reverse grid system that sees the top eight from the first race of the weekend line up in the reverse order for the second race of the weekend, which provides some brilliant racing as the faster drivers often start lower down the grid.

Brawn told Sky Sports: "I would like to see in 2020 for us to try a few things. In 2020 we’ve got a stable platform in terms of the cars, things aren’t changing that much and I think that it could be a good opportunity perhaps for one or two races to try some variations.

"I don’t see any other way that we logically progress the race format, I think the basic race format is good, but would a sprint race be interesting, or would some changes to qualifying be interesting.

"I think the teams are up for doing some variations during a Saturday to see if we can try out a better solution."
