Robert Kubica: Williams fightback shows "you should never give up"

Robert Kubica sees his first point for Williams as a reminder to "never give up". The Polish Formula 1 driver has sat at the back of the grid for the majority of the season and has been outperformed by rookie teammate George Russell. 

Kubica was handed some good fortune at the German Grand Prix. Both Alfa Romeo cars were penalised which lifted him into the points. While he admits he's not going to get emotional about it, he's pleased Williams took the required risks.

"I'm not going to be emotional about that anyway, because I'd rather have reached that point myself without a penalty for the Alfas," Kubica said. 

"Of course you are happy with the point and in the en,d the risks in the race paid off. We drive all the way back and then you are sometimes in conflict. You might want to take that risk, but you also don't want to leave the race due to a wrong tire choice. Because we ultimately do not take the risk and stay in place, we still get the point. That shows again that you should never give up," Kubica tells Auto Motor und Sport.
