Ferrari's Charles Leclerc isn't getting bogged down by the fact that he's yet to win his first Formula 1 race, despite having a strong season so far.

The Monegasque sits fifth in the world championship currently with 132 points, which is just 24 behind his teammate Sebastian Vettel.

He has on a couple of occasions come close to race victories but the 24-year-old knows that his time will come.

“At the beginning of the year, I wanted to understand the car by trying to adapt my driving style. At one point, I managed to do good things, but then I felt there was more performance and it helped me.

“Before the Grand Prix de France, I was looking for a good feeling with the car. After that, I think I changed my approach a bit and I think I adapted the car a bit to my style, which helped me a lot., he told Formula 1.com

The goal since the beginning of the season is to get my first win, but it's not an obsession and I try to focus on myself and progress step by step. I remain convinced that success will come. We are working very hard to improve our current position, and this will be our main goal for the second half of the season, "he said.

Having the experienced Vettel as his teammate has helped greatly and the pair have led Ferrari to 2nd in the constructors championship at present.

The chance to claim race victories is becoming even more difficult to the dominance of Mercedes, in fact there have only been three different winners of Grand Prix so far this season.
