Max Verstappen was in great form heading into the mid-season break, and the Red Bull driver has admitted he wanted to keep going in a bid to keep the momentum he had built up.

Max has been in great form in 2019 prompting many people to believe he is the best driver on the grid despite sitting third in the Drivers' Championship. The Dutchman scored race wins in Austria and Germany before leading most of the race at the Hungaroring until he was overtaken by a surging Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen's momentum had gathered serious pace but it has now been halted as we head into the mid-season break. Verstappen admitted he would've kept going to keep his momentum.

"We've had very nice and exciting races. It's good to have a rest, but it's not that I really need a vacation," Verstappen said as quoted by AS.

"Last weekend, after the Hungarian Grand Prix, I told my father: 'If we had four races more, I could have continued.' Especially when you're in a good moment, that's true."
