Guenther Steiner continues to get frustrated with the 2019 Formula 1 tyres. The Haas car continues to struggle with the Pirelli compounds as boss Steiner calls them "weird".

During the Hungarian Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean retired from his sixth race of the 2019 Formula 1 season. Kevin Magnussen finished in 13th which keeps Haas 9th in the F1 world championship. Earlier in the season, Steiner claimed Haas had solved part of the tyre mystery, but that isn't reflected in recent results.

“It was a pretty tough race for us. In the end, though we showed some fight with some other midfield teams. A lot is in these tires, which makes these races so unpredictable, and weird almost," Steiner said.

"Kevin (Magnussen) put up a good fight, and unfortunately, Romain’s (Grosjean) tires just died on him, then we had an issue with his water pressure. At the end, it’s a difficult situation to be, in dealing with these tires and getting them to work. We will keep on trying until something changes.”

Haas is now 5 points away from nearest rivals SportPesa Racing Point in the Formula 1 world championship. After fighting Renault for the 'best of the rest' position during the 2018 F1 season, it looks unlikely they'll get anywhere near this time around.
