Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel have rated their seasons so far and they all seem to believe there is room for improvement, especially in the case of Vettel.

Hamilton has won eight races this season and won the final race before the mid-season break in Hungary, overtaking Max Verstappen in the closing stages. Verstappen has two wins to his name this season and many feel he has been the most impressive driver on the grid. Vettel meanwhile is without a win this season and has made a number of costly errors.

With the drivers set to have a few weeks off to regroup, they were asked at the post-race press conference to rate their season so far and Vettel was brutally honest.

"Five not happy with the first half," Vettel said.

"I think I struggled here and there to really get on top of the car. I think we’ve been trying a lot of things so fair enough."

Hamilton may be leading the Drivers' Championship but even he feels there is room for improvement giving himself a score of 8.9.

"I’d say like 8.9, 8.8.

"If it wasn’t for the last one, the last race, it would be a little bit higher. I think the good thing is always to score yourself a little bit lower so you’ve more to work on."

Verstappen meanwhile admitted he didn't like giving himself a number but eventually settled for a modest 9.9, saying: "No, I hate putting a number on it because it reminds me of school as well, which is not that long ago."
