It may have been another race without points for Sergio Perez as he finished 11th at the Hungarian Grand Prix, but he admitted he was proud of the race and is looking forward to the second half of the season.

Perez started the race at the Hungaroring from 16th on the grid after another difficult qualifying which saw him qualify 17th, only starting higher because of a penalty to Antonio Giovinazzi. The Mexican elected for a one-stop strategy and came over the line in 11th.

However, Perez remains without a single point since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and his teammate is above him in the Drivers' standings. Despite another race without any points it doesn't seem to be bothering Perez and he was proud of the performance he put in.

“I think today was definitely a race of which we can be proud," Perez said on the SportPesa Racing Point website.

"We did a fantastic race - a good start, great first lap, very aggressive strategy to undercut two cars and then pushing to the limit all the way through.

"Right at the end Albon came up behind me quickly and we made contact, which damaged my suspension. I was really struggling in the last three or four laps - it was a challenge just to finish in P11.

"We gave it everything out there, so I'm happy with that. Hopefully, the second half of the season will be more promising for us.”
