Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he is "proud" of his performances so far this year and that his dominance this season reminds him of his early days in Formula 1 with McLaren. The Mercedes driver has won 7 of the opening 10 races this season and is set to pick up his sixth World Championship. However, the Brit reveals there is something he still needs to work on.

"My first season was pretty strong... but since then, I don't recognize another season being as strong as this one," Hamilton said to Sky Sports.

"Of course, having the seven wins... I was just reminiscing about my McLaren days and I think the most I had in a year was five wins.

"Over all the years here, I think we've maybe had 10 in a season but never seven in the first 10, so it definitely is an outlier and something we are really proud of."

Despite the impressive winning record, Hamilton doesn't think he's the perfect driver and has acknowledged qualifying as an area he needs to develop.

"Qualifying is still not perfect yet. So I've got to work on that. But in general the race pace has been really strong and something I've been happy with."

Lewis Hamilton will hope to impress in qualifying and add to his impressive win record once again at the German Grand Prix this weekend.
