Mercedes are streaks ahead of the rest of the field and Valtteri Bottas appears to have written off his opponents in the battle for the World Championship, admitting "it seems like a matter between Lewis and me".

Mercedes' pair of Bottas and Lewis Hamilton have won all but one race this season and had five consecutive one-two victories at the start of the season. They bounced back after the Austrian Grand Prix where they came third and fifth, to win another one-two at Silverstone.

Despite Hamilton holding a comprehensive lead over Bottas, the Finn still believes it is between them for the title.

"We're not even halfway through the season, a lot can happen. It seems like a matter between Lewis and me," Bottas told Racingnews365.

"We have created a big margin over others, but I'm focusing on myself and on how I can reach Lewis."

Although Hamilton has the edge over him, Bottas is still trying to improve to challenge his teammate, adding: "Sometimes engineers can help make a difference based on the data, Lewis is faster in the corners lens and is better at handling tires. The data show me where I need to improve, but it's up to me to make it happen in the car."
