Sebastian Buemi has avoided any injuries after crashing during a Pirelli test at Silverstone, just days after winning the penultimate race of the Formula E season.

The Swiss driver finished on top of the first New York E-Prix last Saturday before finishing third during the second race on Sunday. It meant the Nissan E Dams driver finished second in the overall standings, behind Jean-Eric Vergne. He currently holds the record for the most Formula E wins.

Following the British Grand Prix, Pirelli were working with Red Bull and Williams as preparation for the 2020 tyres. Williams had their usual driver lineup of Robert Kubica and George Russell whilst Buemi replaced Max Verstappen, teaming up with Pierre Gasly.

Buemi is one of Red Bull's reserve drivers having driven for Toro Rosso until 2012 and was a reserve driver for the Bulls up until 2014. He returned in 2019, whilst keeping his place in Formula E. However, on Wednesday he crashed bringing a premature end to the session. After undergoing several medical checks he was released by the doctors without any injuries.
