British Grand Prix driver ratings! Who performed, and who didn't?

Another British Grand Prix, another Lewis Hamilton home win. But how did the drivers get on? Here's our driver ratings from Sunday's race at Silverstone!

Lewis Hamilton - 9

Hamilton may have won, but the slice of luck with the safety car prevents it being a 10. A brilliant battle with Valtteri Bottas in the opening laps and after the pitstop he just dominated. Classic Hamilton, we've come to expect it now.

Valtteri Bottas - 9

The Finn can consider himself unlucky to have lost out to the safety car period as he seemed back to his best this weekend. Did brilliantly to stay ahead of Hamilton in the opening laps, his move into Copse one of the highlights of the weekend.

Charles Leclerc - 8

Four podiums in a row now for the Monegasque, the longest run in F1 currently. Qualified well in third and when he lost out during the safety car period he didn't give up and took advantage of Vettel and Verstappen's crash to claim his space on the podium.

Pierre Gasly - 7

This weekend was undoubtedly Gasly's strongest for Red Bull, as he outqualified Sebastian Vettel and battled with the Ferraris throughout the race. Lost a bit of pace towards the end but was still way ahead of the midfield drivers he'd been battling previously.

Max Verstappen - 8

What an eventful afternoon for the Dutchman! A great battle with Leclerc in the opening exchanges and a brilliant overtake on Vettel - He was totally innocent in the crash that rather spoilt his race. Lucky to escape without damage and salvage fifth from a great drive.

Carlos Sainz - 9

This is Sainz's best season in F1 in his career and he produced yet another mature drive to rise from P13 on the grid to finish sixth and take home eight more points to add to his already impressive tally. McLaren will be delighted to have him under contract for another year.

Daniel Ricciardo - 7

A pretty quiet race for the Australian, finishing where he started in seventh. Got the advantage over Lando Norris in the pits and never looked back. A strong race for Ricciardo.

Kimi Raikkonen - 8

We thought it might be a difficult day for Raikkonen when he was knocked out in Q2 on Saturday, but he used all his experience to make his way through the field and score points for the third consecutive race.

Daniil Kvyat - 9

After two fairly disappointing outings, Kvyat was superb on Sunday, picking up an unlikely two points after starting the race way down in P17. Kvyat's return to F1 is a success story so far, that's for sure.

Nico Hulkenberg - 6

A pretty anonymous race for Hulkenberg, who made a mistake in sector two to lose a stronger finish, eventually overtaking Albon on the last lap to grab a solitary point. Outperformed by Ricciardo all weekend.

Lando Norris - 5

Also overtaking Albon in the closing stages, Norris had a difficult race after strategy let him down. Not pitting under the safety car ruined his hard work, keeping Ricciardo behind him for the opening laps. Never really recovered after pitting.

Alex Albon - 6

A great performance in qualifying saw him line up ninth for the race, but he didn't seem to have the same pace as teammate Kvyat. Unlucky to miss out on a point on the last lap and it's now four races without points for the Thai driver.

Lance Stroll - 5

Another Q1 exit and he left himself far too much to do in an uncompetitive SportPesa Racing Point. The team isn't having their best moment right now but if Stroll can qualify better then his natural race pace could make points scoring easier.

George Russell - 7

He does all he can with the machinery he's been given and he showed his talent by once again comfortably outperforming Robert Kubica. Continues to impress with his mindset and determination to do his best and enjoy the occasion.

Sebastian Vettel - 2

Oh Seb, why did you go for it? Totally to blame for the accident with Verstappen, and dropped like a stone with wing damage, having to pit for a new one. Misery compounded by a ten second penalty. Not been the same since the whole Canada debacle.

Robert Kubica - 6

Like Russell, it's hard to mark Kubica, but he was beaten once again by his British teammate. It would be interesting to see what he could do in competitive machinery, but we may never see that happen.

Sergio Perez - 4

Six races without points isn't the best statistic for Sergio Perez to have, and front wing damage in a pure racing incident what the last thing he needed at the safety car restart. Sadly, he never got back at it and finished in a lowly P17.

Antonio Giovinazzi - 3

From the high of points in Austria to the low of the gravel trap at Silverstone, it was a disappointing race for the Italian, who will be desperate for better in the upcoming races, with Monza on the horizon.

Romain Grosjean - 2

Everything to do with Haas right now is a bit of a balls-up isn't it? Contact with his teammate on the first lap and retirement eight laps later is exactly what he didn't want, with a seat for next year looking increasingly unlikely.

Kevin Magnussen - 1

Knocked out in Q1 and an early retirement for the Dane, who must surely be getting frustrated with his team. A difficult time for him right now.
