Lance Stroll believes Racing Points alternate strategy leads to "scoring points"

Lance Stroll believes that if Racing Point are to score the maximum points that they can this season then they need to "mix up" their strategy. The team puts their two drivers out on differing strategies and Stroll believes that this means the team can benefit if one is better than the other. Stroll thinks that this is a good idea and that it gives the team a greater chance of success.

"We always try to do one car on one strategy and another car on another strategy, otherwise you diminish your chances of scoring points," Stroll was quoted by F1i.com. "It's always down to the roll of the dice on a Sunday.

"In Canada, I think it worked, and even in Paul Ricard, we didn't score points but it was still a good strategy.

"It always depends on a number of factors, and you can't always do it, but when there are two or three stops and chances of tyre degradation, you can mix it up."

Racing Point are 7th in the Championship and will hope to continue to score points to try and catch up with the rest of the midfield. It will be interesting to see if their split strategy pays off or if they are better committing to one strategy for both drivers.
