Antonio Giovinazzi on what Kimi Raikkonen is like as a teammate

Antonio Giovinazzi is in his first full-time season as a Formula 1 driver and scored his first points last weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Italian racer has gained confidence from this and hopes that with his teammates help he will continue to finish in the top 10. The Alfa Romeo drivers teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, is one of F1's biggest characters but Giovinazzi says the Finn is a huge help to him.

"My target was to improve race-by-race,” he said to RaceFans after the Austrian Grand Prix. “I knew it was not easy because I had two years without racing so I’m really happy with the progress I’m doing.”

The Italian racer opened up on his relationship with Raikkonen and how they help each other with the set up of their cars.

“So far we are able to drive the same car. This is important. Maybe I’m a little bit more aggressive than him, he is a little bit better in the race pace.

He said having Raikkonen as a teammate “can just help me to improve faster and this is what I’m doing.

“Of course he’s not [one] who comes to you and tried to help you. But I have the data from him, I have the video from him and if I need to ask him something he always answers me. So the relationship is really good with him and for this, we need to keep working like that.”

Alfa Romeo will hope to get more points at the British Grand Prix next weekend.
