Andreas Seidl, team principal of McLaren, believes that F1 will struggle to attract any new manufacturers to the sport, considering the uncertainty over the rule changes for 2021.

Formula 1's regulations are set to turned upside down in 2021, with a budget cap among the new rules, and Seidl believes that not knowing the exact rules is putting off potential entrants.

The only brand new outfit in the past nine seasons was Haas, and with concerns over the finances of a few others, F1 could do with attracting some new teams.

According to F1i.com. Seidl said: "[It's] very important to make sure you can enter this sport with an investment which is a lot smaller compared to what you have to do now.

"The investment you have to do for the infrastructure, and the budget you have to use in order to get to the point where the established manufactures are - you have to be realistic.

"[It is] pretty difficult to imagine that anyone would invest that money at the moment."
