Guenther Steiner has revealed the impact the Netflix series, Drive to Survive has had on him admitting people even stop him at the airport now.

Steiner has been Haas team principal since 2014 and has overseen their debut in the sport as well as their best ever finish in 2018 of fifth in the Constructors' Championship. This season has been less plain sailing as the team sit second bottom in the Championship.

Steiner featured prominently in the first season of Drive to Survive, the Netflix series which documented several narratives from the 2018 season. Steiner has gained cult status for his appearances, in which he has some colourful moments and has even had a parody Twitter account created.

Speaking to Formula 1 Steiner revealed how it has changed his life and his thoughts on the Twitter account.

"The documentary on Netflix has indeed changed a little for me," joked Steiner.

"People came to me at the airport in New York:" Hey, you are that Netflix guest, right?"

On the Twitter account Steiner added: "It's not me, those tweets are too funny to be mine.

"To make such a persiflage once is easy, but to do it again and again… Those tweets are so good, they could be mine. All that cursing and humour: really very good. I have to laugh about it myself."
