Andy Green, the technical director at the Racing Point has conceded that were simply off the pace at the Austrian Grand Prix as both drivers finished outside of the points.

It was a disappointing weekend all around for the Racing Point team, as both drivers exited qualifying in Q1 with Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll in P16 and P17 respectively. After starting the race in 13th and 14th place, they managed to salvage some of the credibility from their weekend, as Perez finished eleventh and Stroll where he started in 14th.

Despite the race being slightly better than Saturday's qualifying, it was a frustrating weekend for Racing Point and Andy Green was very honest with his assessment telling Motorsport.com: "In the end, we weren't quick enough, as simple as that.

"We underperformed in qualifying, so we were in the wrong part of the grid, and once you're there, it's so difficult to do anything."

Despite only scoring points once since the Spanish Grand Prix Green is optimistic about the team bouncing back, adding: "We'll pick ourselves up, and go to the next one. We know that there are improvements coming."
