Renault's performance doesn't add up for Daniel Ricciardo

Renault's performance "doesn't add up" for Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo has said that Renault's recent form doesn't make sense and hopes that the team can fix the issues in time for the British Grand Prix. The Australian racer has said that the car feels light under braking and that the chassis was being impacted by the wind. Having spoken to his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, the drivers discovered that the issue was one that they shared.

"I really hope we're going to find something this week," Ricciardo said to Motorsport.com. "Because it felt like - for example, Le Castellet was a lot windier yet I didn't really feel affected by the wind, where even today the car felt like there was massive turbulence during the race, in terms of the way it was handling, and the high-speed was very light.

"So I feel something still wasn't quite right on the car this weekend, what that is though we still don't know, I'd like to believe we're going to find something because right now it doesn't add up.

"So, for now, I remain optimistic that I'll be like, 'that was what was wrong', and then we'll be in Silverstone laughing."

McLaren are clearly the strongest team in the midfield but Renault will be hoping to take the battle to them and they need to do it quickly before McLaren run away with it.
