Nico Hulkenberg has admitted his Renault team did not have a "points-worthy" car in Austria over the weekend.

Renault struggled with grip all weekend, and Hulkenberg could only manage a P13 finish - whilst his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo finished a place above the German at the Red Bull Ring.

Hulkenberg and Ricciardo have similar views when it comes to the weekend in general and the fact Renault couldn't provide its driver with a good enough car for a points finish in Austria.

"We can't be happy with this weekend," Hulkenberg brutally said. "We had multiple issues on the car today (Sunday) and it made it hard work out there. We didn't have a points-worthy car today and we didn't have the pace to get by anyone during the middle or latter stages.

"Over the years, Austria has proved to be quite a particular circuit and one we don't tend to do so well at. We'll use this week off, dive into the data, and see what's going on to make some improvements ahead of Silverstone."
