Red Bull Racing have announced they have renamed Turn One at the Red Bull Ring in honour of the late Niki Lauda, as the tricky right-hander will now be known as the Niki Lauda Kurve.

Lauda, a three-time Formula 1 champion, is one of the biggest and most loved personalities to ever come out of Austria, is the only Austrian driver to have won a home Grand Prix, as he did so in his third title-winning season in 1984.

The recent years at Mercedes, where Lauda became a non-executive chairman, were very successful as well, as the German team has won five consecutive double championships under his guidance.

His passing on the 20th of May, at age 70, came as a shock to the entire world of Formula 1. Nearly every team has run a tribute of some form, and now, at his home Grand Prix, the legend will forever have his name attached to the track.
