Romain Grosjean is enjoying the heat in Austria
Romain Grosjean has had a disappointing season so far and he hopes that he can turn things around at the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend. Haas have struggled with this year's tyres and have not been able to perform to their optimum. The Frenchman says that a lot of time has gone into improving the car for this race and hopes that the new ideas that are implemented pay off.
"We've always raced well here and I've always enjoyed coming here," Grosjean said to the Official Formula 1 Website. "I like the circuit and layout. It doesn't look very special on paper but when you actually drive it it's really nice going up the hill and down and the high-speed corners."
"Hopefully we can come up with some decent ideas and try and get the car to the front. It's hard. It's hard because we have no testing when we need it! We have a lot of ideas and will try different things and see if we manage to perform."
The heat at the Grand Prix will play a part in the race with the hot temperatures impacting the tyres and also the drivers. Grosjean is not worried about this and is instead glad that he doesn't have to wear trousers.
"It's hot. The summer has arrived and it's nice. I'm enjoying it a lot. We'll see how it goes throughout the weekend. I think it's going to stay quite warm but that's good because we won't have to think about wearing trousers or putting wet tyres on!"
Haas need a strong performance at this Grand Prix and they will hope that hot air temperatures mean that they can manage their tyres better than they have done at previous Grand Prix's.
