Antonio Giovinazzi aiming to use "positives of the previous race" to score points

Antonio Giovinazzi is yet to score points in Formula 1 but hopes that will change this weekend around the Red Bull Ring. The Alfa Romeo driver had a positive weekend last time out in France, and he plans to use this as a blueprint for the Austrian Grand Prix.

Kimi Raikkonen is eighth in the drivers' championship while his teammate is one of only three drivers not to score points during the 2019 Formula 1 season. The 25-year-old ventured into Q3 last weekend and he's looking to build on this experience.

“Going into the Spielberg weekend I would like to concentrate on the positives of the previous race. The pace in qualifying was great and it was good to feel the fighting spirit within the team to come back, to gain performance and finally score points as a team again," he said.

Things haven't been easy for Giovinazzi as his car has picked up numerous problems. It was never going to be easy lining up against the 2007 world champion. He hopes his hard work over the last four months starts to pay off this weekend.

“It’s true to my values of never giving up and I’m grateful to see that the team is helping me wherever they can in order to score my first points. Therefore I can’t wait to get in the car again in order to deliver," he added.
