Seidl trusts FIA and Liberty over 2021 changes

McLaren team principal, Andreas Seidl believes the current foundation for the 2021 rule changes are in place admitting he trusts the work the FIA and Liberty are doing.

The 2021 rule changes are set to be Liberty Media's first big impact on the sport since buying the brand in January 2017. The rules were set to be confirmed this month but much like Brexit the FIA and Formula 1 were granted an extension of October this year.

Last month Seidl voiced his concerns around having some clarity over the rules for the 2021 changes and now admitted he trusts the work Liberty Media are doing and it is more important that the principles that are already in place are kept.

"On the other hand, we trust the FIA and Liberty, that they know what they are doing, and know what is good for the sport in the future," Seidl told Motorsport.

"Some principles have been agreed.

"We don't have final regulations, we just hope that it all stays like that, which is in our opinion the right thing.

"The main thing for us is that the principles that have been set out stay in place."
