Racing Point have an "opportunity" at Canadian Grand Prix after recent results

Lance Stroll is preparing to race at his home Grand Prix of Canada for the first time in a Racing Point and he believes the race brings a welcome opportunity for the team to put in a good performance.

Stroll has had a difficult start to life at Racing Point after joining from Williams, with the Canadian scoring only four points in six races so far this season. Meanwhile his teammate Sergio Perez is up in ninth in the Drivers' standings.

Stroll finished 17th at his home Grand Prix last season but is hopeful in his new Racing Point car that will yield a different, more positive result.

"Well, it’s obviously a very special weekend; it’s good to be back home," Stroll said at the pre-race press conference.

"That’s right, yeah, at the hairpin, like last year, so that will be very special, my installation lap tomorrow, all the Canadian flags in the grandstands. It’s one of the best weekends on the calendar and definitely the highlight of my season.

"Well, historically it’s been a track that’s suited our car.

"But I think there is an opportunity for us this weekend, it’s been a challenging couple of events, in Spain and in Monaco, not managing to score points, but we’re looking to turn that around this weekend."
