Pierre Gasly is hopeful his Red Bull Racing team can extract more performance from its RB15 on Saturday during the qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen had a bit of a nightmare second free practice session in Monaco, following a problem with the RB15's radiator. However, Gasly was able to record a decent amount of laps and finished in P4 in FP2.

Gasly finished just behind Sebastian Vettel in third, and the Frenchman was very pleased with his performance on Thursday.

"It was a positive day," Gasly said. "The first free practice was a bit tricky, but then we made adjustments and it felt a lot better in FP2. We have noticed that we are able to fight with Ferrari.

"Mercedes is still ahead of us, but we have to keep fighting and find out what we can achieve on Saturday," the Frenchman explained to Motorsport.com.

"I think we can get even more out of the package, but I feel very confident about this. We all know it's about qualifying and starting position in Monaco, so hopefully we'll find a few extra tenths on Saturday."
