Daniel Ricciardo believes winning the Monaco Grand Prix in his first year with Renault is a "stretch", but the Aussie is proven around the Circuit de Monaco.

Last season, Ricciardo produced a start-to-finish performance in Monaco for Red Bull Racing. It was slight revenge for the previous season, when the Aussie messed up a pit-stop and lost the first position.

Red Bull are a team that often bring its "A-Game" to the street circuits like Monaco - so, repeating any sort of heroics with Renault - will be an even bigger challenge for Ricciardo.

"I've done it before, so it's familiar territory," Ricciardo explained to Reuters"I'm really curious to see how I perform this year in Monaco. The Red Bull was a great car but I always feel like Monaco is a track where, if you're comfortable with the circuit and the walls and all that and have the confidence, you can leapfrog maybe your car's position further up.

"We'll see how far up we can get. I think a win is a stretch. But I think we can get a good result. Maybe our best of the year. We'll see.

"Monaco stands out where you can visibly see a driver that is having a good time, driving the car around there, and the ones who are lacking that enjoyment or that confidence."
