Steiner pleased with Spain progress but Haas "are on the limit"

Haas boss Guenther Steiner is relieved following the progress the team made in Spain after they topped the midfield battle at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Haas drivers, Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean finished seventh and tenth respectively to record their first double points finish of the season at the Spanish Grand Prix. Despite the positive finish the team had to clear the air between the pair after a coming together between the pair on lap 53 after the safety car restart.

Haas have struggled at the start of the season with reliability and pace which they put down to tyres. They finally showed what they’re capable of in Spain and Steiner was relieved to show what he knew they were capable of.

“We know the speed of the car, just at certain tracks we cannot get the tyres to work and in Spain, it is working,” Steiner said.

“We are on the limit, we get it in but what we need to do is find a way to make it work everywhere.

“It’s clear that the car is good, there’s no doubt about the speed of the car.

“Hopefully we can do well in Monte Carlo, and my bigger concern now is that our car is performing in Monte Carlo and Canada.”
