Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari can draw inspiration from the footballing world this week - with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both producing remarkable comebacks in their respective Champions League semi-finals.

Mercedes have started the season with four successive one-two finishes to this campaign and currently lead Ferrari by 72 points in the race for the constructors' championship.

The closest Ferrari have came to a grand prix victory this season is when Leclerc was at the front in Bahrain, but the 21-year-old's car suffered an engine failure and he could only manage a P3 finish.

"As a team and as a driver, I think you should always be motivated and never give up," Leclerc said. "The Champions League was a good example of that and that is the mentality in the team."

Liverpool were 3-0 down to Barcelona after the first-leg at the Camp Nou, but the Reds managed to win 4-0 at Anfield to take them through to the final of the European competition.

Spurs, meanwhile, were trailing Ajax 1-0 after the first-leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tottenham managed to win 3-2 at the Johan Cruyff Arena and went through on the away goals rule.

"We are here to win and that is what we want, so we do everything possible to improve and hopefully the results will come," Leclerc continued to Motorsport Week.
