Horner enjoying "constant evolution" with Honda

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner is a big fan of the team's new era in their relationship with Honda, as the Brit sees constant evolution and development with their new engine partners.

The Bulls had a 12-year relationship with Renault come to an end in 2018, despite the duo winning four double championships at the start of this decade. The French power units have been a source of frustration for Red Bull, with straight-line speed being severely less compared to Mercedes and Ferrari while reliability has been subpar as well.

Since 2019, the Austrian team has teamed up with Honda, a decision seen as risky by many. They've secured one podium in the opening three races, but with no reliability issues, Horner is happy.

"It's a totally different relationship," he told Sky Sports F1 when comparing Honda to Renault.

"With our previous supplier, it was very much a customer-driven scenario where we were allowed to look at two candidates a year for fuel upgrades.

"This is constant evolution and development. ExxonMobil working with Honda are making great gains.

"Fuel is such an important factor in the development of these engines now that there's real benefit and real lap time that is on the table that fuel companies are responsible for.

"It's been a real injection of enthusiasm, passion and shared goals and visions. We are very happy with how the relationship has started and what's in the pipeline."
