Christian Horner has praised Max Verstappen for his maturity on the Red Bull/Honda situation. Horner expects it will pay off as the team continue to build momentum with their new engine suppliers.

Verstappen finished on the podium in Australia and still sits as the best driver outside of Mercedes in the drivers' standings.

As the Austrian team become more accustomed to their new partners, they're seeking some power improvements. He praises his 21-year-old driver for his level head in an unusual situation.

“I think he has been very mature about it. He has driven three strong Grands Prix so far this year and was obviously unlucky not to be on the podium in Bahrain and had a go at Sebastian [Vettel] here after the pit stop. He drove a very mature race to bring it home fourth," the Red Bull boss told Crash.

“It is about points accumulation at this stage, it is still not that big a gap to the guys ahead, he is still ahead of both Ferrari drivers in the championship at the moment and still a long, long way to go. It is important you don’t give away too much ground at this stage of the year.”
