Max Verstappen targets a win by mid-season

Max Verstappen has set a target of winning a race by the time we reach the halfway stage of the season. Red Bull have impressed many so far this season and with Verstappen ahead of both Ferrari drivers in the driver's championship, things are looking positive. The next step for the Dutch driver is to get a race win something which Verstappen believes is achievable. 

“I think we still need to add more horsepower, but we are a little bit closer," Verstappen said to Motorsport.com. "On the car side we also need to improve to really compete. We’ll see."

When asked when he thinks he will get his first win of the season, Verstappen said, “Hopefully halfway through the season, we won’t have to say we can only fight on circuits without straights.

“We are still losing time on the straights, that’s a fact. Especially compared to Ferrari. They found something this year but nobody knows how. They have done their homework and we have to make sure we get closer with the chassis and the engine.”

“In general we can be satisfied with our start,” he said. “I think no one expected we would compete for wins right away." 

Red Bull will hope they can continue to develop and that they manage to top the podium in the near future.
