Nico Hulkenberg has called on Renault to fix its reliability issues after the French team endured another miserable race weekend in China for the German.

While teammate Daniel Ricciardo finished the race a respectable seventh for his first points finish of his Renault career, Hulkenberg retired from yet another race after an apparent MGU-K software issue.

Ricciardo joined the team with the future very much in mind however the reliability issues the team has faced so far this season is cause for concern according to Hulkenberg.

"It's not good news. We really have to get on top of these things, because we're costing ourselves results, experience and points," he told media after the Chinese Grand Prix.

"I think we know that we have homework to do on that side. We need fixes rather sooner than later. I lost power and it didn't go anywhere. It looks like it's related to the MGU-K again, unfortunately. So it looks like we have more work to do there."

Renault suffered a double retirement a fortnight ago at the Bahrain Grand Prix just a handful of laps from the end of the race. Combined with Carlos Sainz's non-finish at the first event of the season in Melbourne and Renault already has the worst reliability record of any power unit provider on the grid.
