Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is confident he can get a strong result for the Italian team in the upcoming Grand Prix in Bahrain, as the Monegasque youngster said he really enjoys driving in Sakhir.

Leclerc had a sensational Bahrain race in Formula 2 back in 2017. The then 19-year-old laid a foundation for his title-winning season, passing almost the entire field to eventually grab the win.

Last season, Leclerc's debut season in F1, things didn't go too well. The rookie was clearly still getting used to life in F1 before he went on to absolutely boss the rest of the season.

Speaking on this season's edition of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Leclerc fancies his chances now that he's at Ferrari.

“Bahrain is a rather technical track where often we drivers encounter extreme conditions," he told Sky Italia.

"For this reason it is interesting to try many different configurations during free practice, so as to be prepared for any eventuality.

"I like the Sakhir track very much. I competed here in F2 and I immediately got some satisfaction. Last season it was a bit difficult but I was only at the beginning of my Formula 1 career. This year I want to bring home a good result with Ferrari.”
