Daniel Ricciardo is determined to put last weekend's disappointment at his home race in Australia, as well as it being his debut for Renault, behind him.

Ricciardo was out-qualified by his team-mate, Nico Hulkenberg - who went onto finish in P7 - and the Aussie ruined his chances in the race after being forced wide at the beginning of the race and he tore his front wing off his car on a bump.

But two weeks have almost passed since the incident, and the former Red Bull Racing man wants to kickstart his career at Renault and focus on the next race that's in six-days time in Bahrain.

"I'm keen to put Australia to one side," Ricciardo admitted to RaceFans. "It was a pretty frustrating weekend overall, even more so as the pace was clearly there for a good result.

"In qualifying, I personally felt I left something out there, which meant our starting spot wasn't ideal. There's not too much to say about the race."

Considering the French works-team couldn't get either Ricciardo's or Hulkenberg's car into Q3, they ended up being towards the leading end of the midfield when the race was over on Sunday.

"Hopefully we can be in amongst it this weekend," Ricciardo continued. "But first we need to ensure we're quick in qualifying, and be at the top end of the midfield."
