The FIA is looking at solutions to a new issue the 2019 aerodynamic rule changes have produced after complaints by multiple drivers that they could not see the starting lights in Melbourne.

Both Pierre Gasly and Robert Kubica complained after the Australian Grand Prix that they could not see the starting lights due to the increase in the size of the rear wing.

Kubica complained that the rear wing of Carlos Sainz was blocking his vision of the light gantry with Red Bull's Gasly adding that he had nothing else to go on but the movement of other cars.

"When I stopped [on the grid] I couldn't see the lights," Kubica explained.

"The rear wing of the McLaren was hiding it so I could see the first block [of lights] and not the rest. So I had to move to the left - and it was a bit of a panic moment."

"With the new bigger rear wings, I couldn't see the lights on the grid so I had to react with the cars around me and I lost a couple of places," added Gasly.

According to Autosport, the F1 Group is now working on a solution to the problem that can be implemented in time for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
