Marko warns Gasly after crashing twice already

Helmut Marko has fired a warning shot a Pierre Gasly as he has crashed twice already. Marko believes that Verstappen and Gasly are on different levels but still targets winning five races this season. Many thought this season would be one of transition for Red Bull but it seems that their relationship with Honda has grown very quickly over the winter.

Red Bull look like a new team now that they are in a partnership with Honda. There is a new confidence surrounding them and this has led Marko to say that the target for 2019 is “a minimum of five wins."

“I believe we also have a certain chance of the world championship,” he told APA news agency.

Marko spoke about winter testing and how Gasly's crash set the team back.

“In the second crash we ran out of spares, so Max Verstappen could hardly drive on the last day,” said Marko.

“Nothing will change in that way, but what we’ve seen in the tests is that Gasly is not yet on Verstappen’s level. But we didn’t expect that either,”

“Apart from the two crashes, it was perfect.

“Especially the second crash hurt us. He should not allow himself to do that anymore,”

Red Bull will hope that the pressure that they have put on Gasly will help him perform and keep the car on track.
