Lewis Hamilton won his fifth World Championship in 2018 but whilst one F1 great in Fernando Alonso is very much fixed on winning the triple crown, Hamilton has revealed he didn’t even know what it was until recently.

Hamilton blew away the rest of the field to seal a fourth title in five years leaving his nearest challenger, Sebastian Vettel in his dust. For someone who has had so much success in motorsport, the Brit has no interest in achieving the triple crown.

The Mercedes driver has won the Monaco Grand Prix twice meaning he would need to win the Indy 500 and the 24 hr Le Mans to complete the feet. However, it does not appear to be at the front of his mind.

In an interview with Radio Marca Hamilton said: “So I'm not thinking about that, it's not something I really want to achieve.”

Despite appearing to rule out a pursuit of the triple crown he did hint at a racing career away from F1.

"I love rallies, they are fantastic, maybe I'll try it one day.

"Now I'm more interested in surfing, skydiving and motorcycles, I want to test MotoGP, but I need more time on the track." Added Hamilton.
