Ferrari will take the largest share of the prize pot despite Mercedes winning both championships in 2018. The Italians will scoop $205 million which turns out to be $28 million more than their German rivals.

Haas has picked up the biggest change in prize money received after a 2018 season saw them finishing in fifth place. Williams, who had a disastrous year pick up just $10 million less than Haas.

The British team finished bottom of the constructors' championship, but still picked up $60 million, $8 million more than Toro Rosso who picked up the least according to RaceFans.

The distribution of the total prize money ($1,004m) is worked out using three different categories. The first split is a fixed $35 million for each of the 10 teams who finished the season. Note this still includes Racing Point.

The second cut is linked back to their position in the 2018 constructors' championship. Mercedes won $66 million for this, while Ferrari picked up $56 million. This amount falls through the field to Williams who won $15 million in this category.

Other income includes a constructors championship bonus. Ferrari controversially picks up a long-standing team bonus of $73 million, equal to Renault's total pay.
