Lance Stroll says that he is 'building confidence' as he prepares for the 2019 season with his new team Racing Point. Having moved from Williams, Stroll will now race alongside Sergio Perez at a team owned by his father. Racing Point finished 3rd in Tuesdays testing session suggesting a competitive season up ahead.

Stroll completed 82 laps today and set his quickest lap on the softest C5 tyre with a 1.17.804.

“It was our smoothest day of testing so far and we completed some valuable mileage," Stroll said to FormulaSpy. "The car felt good so I think we are heading in the right direction.”

“These days are about building confidence and getting to grips with the new car, but also getting used to this new environment. I am getting on really well with the crew in the garage.

"They’re great people and everyone is working so hard. We ran on a mix of different tyres today and tried a lot of test items. There’s a good atmosphere in the garage and I’m feeling pleased with the work we did today.”

Racing Point will hope to improve on last seasons results as they look to battle for the title of 'best of the rest'.
