Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey has confirmed the new rule changes made by the FIA for the upcoming 2019 season haven't changed anything.

These have been the views of a lot of the F1 paddock following the drivers' first chance to test out the cars at the 2019 pre-season testing that's taken place recently in Barcelona.

There have been slight changes to the aerodynamic regulations in order to try and make Formula 1 more entertaining for the drivers and the viewers for the upcoming F1 season.

Red Bull Racing have been especially critical of the changes after the cost of €15m but not too much of a significant impact.

"You (the chasing car) lose just as much downforce as before," Red Bull design chief Newey said.

Andy Green, the technical boss at Racing Point, echoed the thoughts of the Red Bull man: "We do not build cars that make driving easier for the guy behind. Our task is to make our cars as fast as possible. And to do this, the air must pass outside of the wheels.

"As long as we see the chance to do that, we will do it."
