Ahead of his new adventure at Alfa Romeo Racing, 39-year-old Kimi Raikkonen has insisted that he doesn't "feel so old", as the Finn penned a two-year-deal at the team which recently went through a name change.

Raikkonen made his Formula 1 debut in 2001 at Sauber, meaning this will be his second stint at the team - sort of. The name Sauber is no longer part of the team, as it switched to Alfa Romeo Racing, but the Sauber DNA still courses through the team.

At 39, Raikkonen is by far the oldest driver on the grid, but the Finn is still excited for the season that lies ahead.

"I have found people who have the desire and the enthusiasm, there is so much potential, and we will soon be able to discover where we are," the 2007 champion was quoted by F1only.fr.

"There is a lot of work to be done to improve things, but we hope to start well.

"[Regarding his objectives] For the moment, it is useless to talk about it, we will see during the first tests of the season, after the first laps. The important thing is to give everything we have and do our best.

"There are regulatory changes, so it will be interesting to see for everyone how it will happen, but I have good feelings, I have no doubt we can do well."

Kimi turns 40 in October, but that doesn't stop him, as he says he doesn't feel like he's that old.

"I do not feel so old in fact on the mental plane. I feel younger than before. I'm fine, I do not feel the age I have."

Alfa Romeo will unveil their 2019 challenger next Monday.
