Red Bull's long term plans and whether the team stays competing in Formula One has not yet been decided according to head of driver development for the team, Dr Helmut Marko.

Red Bull enjoyed a sustained period of success at the beginning of the decade, taking four straight championship doubles with Sebastian Vettel at the team.

Since the introduction of the hybrid power units in 2014 however, the team has struggled to fight for a world championship and a difficult partnership with Renault hampered the teams progress under the new ruleset.

Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Marko refused to rule out the possibility that the team may call time on their F1 foray and leave the sport after a 17-year journey.

"At the moment, no decision has been made," he said.

"We have no regulations, no agreement with the commercial rights holder, nothing. We are taking the same approach as Honda.

"We are hoping that, finally, there will be clarity, and if Honda decides to stay after 2020, we will provide them with everything they need to participate.

"We always opposed the hybrid engines, but Honda wants to continue to work with this engine. We changed our mind because Honda is our supplier now.

"For the first time in 14 years, we are treated as a factory team, which of course creates a completely different situation.
