Leclerc must not "be impatient"

Ferrari have got themselves one heck of a talent in Charles Leclerc, but perhaps the only thing that can stop him from becoming one of the best is himself.

Leclerc won F3 and F2 in consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, and has a chance at the F1 title in 2019, but he will of course have huge competition, not just against the other teams, such as Mercedes and Red Bull, but against his team mate Sebastian Vettel.

Leclerc’s manager, Nicolas Todt, has encouraged the young Monegasque to be patient if results do not come for him immediately.

Todt told Corriere dello Sport: "Charles has never been on the podium (in F1) yet because he did not have a car to do it.

"The mistake that Charles must not commit is to be impatient. He is only 21 and he will have to handle the disappointment of defeat, which he feels even if when he finishes second.

"Charles always sets himself very high goals, but it will not be a problem for him.

"Ferrari understood that it was worth investing in young people and today they are beginning to reap the rewards.”
