Renault F1’s young driver Max Fewtrell is more hopefull of getting a seat in Formula 1 in the future as more young drivers are being given the chance in the tope tier of Formula racing.

The 19-year-old Brit, who won the 2018 Formula Renault Championship will be racing in the revamped FIA Formula 3 series this year is boosted with hopes as F1 team have taken on three drivers from Formula 2.

F2 Championship winner George Russell is driving for Williams, whilst second place Lando Norris has been promoted to a seat at McLaren, and third place Alexander Albon at Toro Rosso.

“The young guys are obviously taking up all the seats but it’s good to open the eyes of F1 fans who have been used to the same grid now that the young generation are going through,” said Fewtrell, quoted on Crash.net.

“It shows me that it is possible and they are all my friends as well. I know most of them and it just puts that light at the end of the tunnel, it’s not just some crazy dream that won’t happen - if you put the work in then it will."

“Hopefully it will become more and more normal each year for us young guys to jump onto the grid.”

Fewtrell remains motivated at the prospect of a potential drive for Renault in future whilst he competes with reigning F3 champions ART Grand Prix this year.
