Cyril Abiteboul is not concerned about the Renault F1 team’s future following the resignation of Carlos Ghosn

Ghosn was denied bail for charges of financial fraud as well as “significant acts of misconduct” and has since stepped down from the roles as chairman and chief executive.

The disposed of chairman’s successors are expected to be announced on Thursday.

The French government confirmed the departure of the Brazilian born on Thursday morning.

"Carlos Ghosn just resigned last night,” French finance minister Bruno Le Maire told Bloomberg.

Renault finished fourth in the Constructors’ Championship and go into the 2019 season with Daniel Ricciardo leading their line up.

Abiteboul is confident that the team is stable with Thierry Bollore at the helm who is set to take on the chief executive role.

"We are part-way on the journey of a long-term plan – six years,” said Abiteboul.

“Six years to build the team, six years to hopefully challenge these guys.

"There is a clear continuity of all the operations with Thierry Bolloré, who is no stranger to Formula 1, as he has been a director of the board of the team since 2016."
