Benito Guerra took the Race of Champions 'Champion of Champions' crown on home soil in Mexico after a surprise upset at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The Rally privateer surprised everyone and beat World Endurance Champion Loic Duval in the final.

A Mexican winner was always going to be a popular outcome and the odds were in the home fans' favour. Three of the four finalists were home crowd favourites with Guerra joined by compatriots Patricio O'Ward and Esteban Gutierrez.

Reigning champion David Coulthard did not feature in the final stages having been eliminated early on whilst Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel was knocked out by new Ferrari academy driver Mick Schumacher in a shock result.

Guerra won 2-0 against Duval in the finals, celebrating in the packed Foro Sol Stadium in front of the home fans.
