Toto Wolff has hinted at the possibility of Mick Schumacher racing for Mercedes in the future and has reflected on the team’s relationship with his father.

The 19-year-old won the F3 European Championships in 2018 and is due to race in Formula 2 in 2019 with Prema Racing.

Mercedes boss Wolff had a lot to say on Schumacher: "Have I already offered him a contract?” Joked Wolff at Bild.

“He won his Formula 3 title with a Mercedes engine.

“But for now we need to give it time to grow and improve.” Added Wolff

Wolff also commented on Mick’s father, Michael who suffered terrible head injuries in a skiing accident in 2013 and very little has been heard about the seven-time World Champion since.

"Michael is always present in my personal life and in that of Mercedes.” Said Wolff.

“We always think about him.

“For me it is the most outstanding rider of all time, with an incredible personality.

“Michael is one of the founding fathers of the recent success of Mercedes in F1 and helped to create these facilities from 2010 to 2012.”
