Haas F1's Romain Grosjean has revealed that he thinks he can drive in Formula 1 until he's 40 years old, as the 32-year-old explains he has a lot left to achieve in the sport.

Grosjean made his debut in F1 back in 2009, but he was cut from Renault shortly after due to a poor run of results. Grosjean himself admitted in a recent interview with F1: Beyond the Grid that he was too young at the time and not ready for everything F1 throws at a driver.

After returning to F1 in 2012, Grosjean manifested himself in the sport at Renault, and driving for Haas F1 now, the Frenchman thinks that he has a lot left to do before he hangs up his gloves.

"I spent eight years in Formula 1, but I think I can still do six, seven or eight years," Grosjean revealed to Motorsport Week.

"Kimi [Raikkonen] is 39 years old and has signed a two-year contract [at Sauber]. I started in F1 at 27, so it's not like I started at 17.

"I am now 32 years old and I spent six [consecutive] years in F1. I think I can still do six or seven, I think I have the energy to do it as I continue to perform.

"A lot of people lose their ... you know why Fernando [Alonso] is frustrated and angry on the radio? In my opinion, it's because he has not lost his desire to win and you still want to win.

"Therefore, when you do not win for three, four or five years, and your car is a sh*t and you know it, you're frustrated.

"The other drivers and athletes in general, are happy to earn [x] million a year, I do what I like. I'm a little bit like Fernando, I never lost that wish to win a race."

Grosjean had a terrible start to the 2018 season, not scoring points for the first eight races. In the second half of the season, though, his form turned around, and he's subsequently earned himself another contract at Haas, a team he's been at since the team was established.
